Children's Horse Camps

Ranch Rudolf is proud to offer youth instructional camps. Camps are offered ranging from the novice, intermediate, and advanced levels of experience.

Barn Buddies

June 21-23, 2010

Time: 9am-12pm (morning group)
        1pm-4pm (afternoon group)

*Please note these are two separate sessions

Children will have a real hands-on experience in which they will be matched with their own horse to learn basic skills such as grooming, handling, leading, and how to care for their horse. Basic western riding lessons will be taught by instructors and mentors, students who have completed previous horse camps at the ranch, will also be available for extra assistance. A strong emphasis will be placed on safety, both on the horses and in the barn.

Novice Horse Camp

June 14-18, August 9-13, and August 23-27, 2010

Time: 9am-4pm

Students will be assigned their own horse to work with and care for during the duration of the camp. No prior riding experience is necessary as we start with all the basics including grooming, handling, leading, bridling and saddling, and basic anatomy. Students learn about the importance of safety as well as the responsibility and hard work it takes to care for a horse. Basic western riding lessons will be taught in both an enclosed area and on the trails.

Intermediate Horse Camp

July 19-21, 2010

Time: 9am-4pm

Students must have either completed Novice Horse Camp or have had 1 year of horseback riding lessons in order to enroll in Intermediate. We will get into more than just the basics of western riding and time will be spent in such areas as improved balance, increased control, and the transition between gaits.

Advanced Horse Camp

July 26-28, 2010

Time: 9am-4pm

Back by popular demand!  Students must have completed Ranch Rudolf's Intermediate Camp to enroll in Advanced Camp.  In this camp we will fine tune Western Riding Skills learned to this point.  At some point each student will work individually with an instructor who will help with specific riding strengths and weaknesses.
